Almost 40 years after winning his first Grand National, Red Rum remains one of Britain's greatest sporting heroes.
Rummy captured the nation's hearts in the 1970s as he leaped over Aintree's fearsome fences to land a hat-trick of National wins – the only horse to achieve the feat.
His partnership with trainer Ginger McCain was legendary and came from unlikely surroundings – a small stable yard at the rear of McCain's car showroom in Southport.
Red Rum already has a statue at Aintree and this year one of McCain is due to be unveiled, just months after his death at the age of 80.
After Rummy's retirement, he remained a celebrity and attracted huge crowds to countless public appearances, including switching on the Blackpool illuminations.
This special celebration magazine contains stunning images of the great horse at Aintree, galloping on the beach at Southport and meeting his thousands of fans.
It also tells the full dramatic story of Rummy's National wins and explores how he captured the public's imagination.
