Queens of the Mersey – commemorating the historic meeting of Cunard's Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary 2.

For 171 years Liverpool and Cunard Line have been inextricably linked.

Now, the links between one of the most famous cities in the world and the most famous ocean liners in the world are set to strengthen further.
On September 8th 2011 the newest Cunarder in the fleet – Queen Elizabeth – makes her maiden call to the Mersey and Cunard Line’s spiritual home.

A week later on 15th September 2011, the line’s flagship Queen Mary 2 will make her second visit to Liverpool.

These visits are set to write another chapter in Liverpool’s maritime history.
