Alex Young The Golden Vision

This biography chronicles the career of Alex Young, one of the most skilful British footballers of all time. Throughout the sixites he didn't run, he glided. He didn't turn, he pirouetted. He didn't jump, he floated. His touch was like a mother's tender kiss. His boots launched missiles. He possessed the vision of a periscope. He had eye-catching grace like no other. Forty years on Evertonians continue to worship this Goodison god.

Dixie Uncut The Lost Interview

This unique book was first published 25 years after the death of Everton’s immortal centre-forward William Ralph “Dixie” Dean, who still holds the top flight goalscoring record with the 60 goals he plundered for the Mersey Blues in 1927-28. This fascinating publication helps us celebrate and truly understand the legend of the Goodison Park hero. 'Dixie Uncut The Lost Interview' features the original manuscript produced by former Liverpool Echo sports editor Michael Charters in 1971 when he interviewed Dean for a record-breaking 18-part series that captivated Football Echo readers for over five months. It is written in Dean’s own words. The 30,000-word unedited version of the work, complete with 123 extra pages of fascinating rough notes, came to light as the unmatchable Liverpool Echo archive was searched with the full support of the newspaper in an effort to find fresh material for this anniversary book. Every word of this “treasure” is included in a publication that will ensure Evertonians truly know the inside story of a football icon. The Legendary Dixie Dean

A unique historical archive, brought to life for the first time in CD format. Veteran journalist John Roberts, the Daily Express’ former north west sports writer, spoke to football icon Dixie Dean as part of his project to produce Everton's official centenary history publication. Subjects ranging from the modern game, his career at Everton and of course, the 1927/28 season when he scored a record 60 goals during the top flight season were amongst the topics discussed, all recorded on cassette tape, which have recently been retrieved. As an added bonus we have included Dean recollections from another Everton and footballing legend, the great Joe Mercer, another of the club's favourite sons who, like Dean, was interviewed as part of Roberts' project. A genuine piece of football history, Dean reveals his belief that only one person will ever be able to eclipse his 60-goal record...”Jesus is the only man who will.” Please note this order will be fulfilled via Royal Mail second class post.
